Legacy. Damn. What a read?
I feel like I say that with every Laura Pavlov book I devour but I can’t help it being true because her stories are freaking beautiful.
Legacy features three brothers, Ford, Harrison and Jack Montgomery. All three who have had to come together to run the family business for the last 5 years since their father passed suddenly.
They’re still living with the loss but have a great family around them. One that I absolutely adore.
As they look to loan out one of the buildings inside of theirs Jack and Harrison make it into a little game. Ford is a bit more serious and black and white so he’s not up for it. Especially when his eyes lay on Harley. It’s hate at first site and it’s mutual.
I loved how both Harley and Ford judge each other right away only to somehow become friends and then so much more.
Harley has had a tough life, she’s always had to be her own protector and fighter so it’s hard to let people in and trust them. As Ford weasels his way in she starts to find trust and something a lot like love and happiness.
I adored the chemistry and banter and overall growth of both Ford and Harley. They pushed each other but never too far.
There was also underlying plots to both their stories that tied them together. There was unexpected events that made me go, “how could I have missed that”. I’m usually pretty good at guessing what’s to come so I loved that I was taken by surprise by the outcome of this story.
It was Laura’s writing at its best, all the sweetness, smarts and sexiness you could wish for!!
Onto book 2, Peacekeeper I go…

Blurb:
Ford
I don’t have time for distractions.
I have a billion-dollar company to run. A father to grieve.
A legacy to fulfill.
Harley DeLuca is not my type.
She’s snarky.
She’s stubborn.
And she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen—even in her ridiculous grungy tennis shoes.
I can’t get enough of her.
Harley
I was a mistake from the moment of conception.
The sins of my mother have followed me like a nightmare in a horror flick.
I’m determined to make a life for myself, free of my past.
I have three goals.
Open a bakery.
Keep Gramps safe.
And forget that I’m Valentina DeLuca’s daughter.
There’s no room in my life for a man.
Especially an arrogant, condescending jerk like Ford Montgomery.
But now he’s my business partner.
My friend.
And if I’m not careful, he just might be—everything.
