Good Intentions by Ella Frank

By

Oh my treble heart, I’m the softest I’ve ever been after reading an Ella Frank book. I am melting into a puddle right now and wish the pages hadn’t ended on Gabe and Marcus’s story but I’d be lying if I didn’t say the ending was perfection.

This duet starts with Bad Intentions, take the double meaning to heart, but it ends with Good Intentions. Be sure to grab book 1 before jumping on this one, and this review will be spoiler free.

After the abrupt end to Bad Intentions my emotions were all over the place but Ella always reels you back in quick. She doesn’t let the heart ache too long and so in book 2 we see the chasing switch. Where Gabe was doing everything to get Marcus to forgive him the roles reverse.

Marcus needs to prove to Gabe that the connection that has struck between them is something he wants to keep. And boy does he go to lengths to prove it.

However external factors weigh in Ans threaten what they have.

Good Intentions had a balance of emotional and heart warming moments, a lot of smiling moments and a lot of swooning. Most of all it moves Gabe and Marcus to a place they were destined to be at.

I loved the journey and seeing them both fight for what they want despite worries of this fantasy vanishing in a moments notice. No two characters were more made for each other than Marcus and Gabe. With their impeccable taste in music and drive and fire to chase their dreams they were made for one another.

I can’t explain how happy my heart is and that with every Ella Frank read I know what I’m in for, while also being thrown surprises at every corner. The biggest ones being the trickling of old characters and seeing them support the story in a way to guide Gabe and Marcus to what they deserve.

Knowing these old characters stories and their own struggles but seeing that their love defeated all odds, and now they are the gurus impending wisdom to others makes me so happy. Plus there’s always room to add more lovable characters to the existing Chicago-verse family and I’m grateful it is Gabe and Marcus who have arrived!

We go on an adventure without spoilers these were my favourite moments, treble heart, Murphy, jazz, Logan (who would have thought he’d be the one throwing love advice around huh), and so many more moments.

I shall go and wistfully dream about Gabe and Marcus’s happily ever after, because it’s one they deserve so very much! Thank you Ella for captivating my heart once again.

Blurb:

Gabriel Romero made me hungry for things I’d never wanted, and starved of the things I didn’t think I’d ever need.
Until now…
Until him…

I was never the man who believed in love, romance, or happily ever afters. I was married to my work, and happy to be that way. Until one night, not too long ago, when an audacious young man lied his way into my life and showed me what I’d been missing.

Bold and sexy, with a face that could melt through the iciest of exteriors, Gabriel Romero is the one factor I never saw coming. There are so many reasons we shouldn’t work—my age, his, our career goals in life—and yet we are drawn together by a passion for music, and each other, that neither of us can deny.

I’ve always been the one to think things through, to follow my head instead of my heart. But if I don’t open myself to what’s possible, instead of thinking of all the ways this seems impossible, I might miss out on the best thing that has ever happened to me.

So I’m taking a chance, and laying myself at his mercy, opening my heart with nothing but good intentions. Only time will tell if Gabriel Romero decides to let me back in.

Good Intentions is the second book in the Intentions Duet.
