Grabbing an Ella Frank book is like coming home and boy am I so freaking glad I decided to binge her entire backlist along with starting the interconnected world from order.
Exquisite was everything I know and love from Ella but in a more contemporary style. It’s a classic romance fairytale with twists and turns but most of all a heartwarming story with characters that will have you grinning from the first page.
Mason Langley and Lena O’Donnell are both charming and the perfect match. They both give as good as it gets and that was my highlight from this story, along with a multitude of other moments.
Mason’s mother enlists him to deliver some flowers to Lena on his way to work. He doesn’t expect her to be such a nuisance and Lena in reverses find him annoying too.
The encounter leads them to be enemies in a mild sense, however when we bump into each others paths again Mason can’t help that niggling feeling that he needs to talk to her more…perhaps even try to be the one to get that smile on her face.
I loved the chemistry and how Mason fought so hard to get into Lena’s world when she only wanted to push him away. She’s still grieving the loss of her sister and he’s a restauranteur on a mission. He dishes out some memorable dates that leave Lena wanting more.
The push and pull is beautiful and secondary characters made this story so much more thrilling. I love the heart-warming and investment I gained as I ended up crying when I didn’t think I would.
Ella Frank is talented at what she can do, she writes stories that make you grin from ear to ear chuckling without a care, only for real life issues to break things down and test the couple to their happily ever after!
Exquisite was just that exquisite and I cannot wait to read onto Shelly and Rachel’s books! Bring it on!

Blurb:
Her heart was guarded…
Tormented by self-imposed guilt, Dr. Lena O’Donnell has spent the last nine years in survival mode. Struggling through days that seem to blend together and battling her way through each horrifying night, she’s determined that this is what she deserves…
Until he tore down the walls…
Mason Langley’s life is going exactly the way he planned it, until her. A confirmed bachelor and the successful owner of the hottest restaurant to hit Chicago, he never expects to be blindsided by an angry woman in a pair of scrubs. No matter how hard he tries, he can’t seem to shake the doctor, and he finds himself liking the way she makes him feel.
Almost over night Lena finds her world turned upside down by Mason and the sexual desire they discover together. Slowly, she lowers her guard and invites him inside but when tragedy strikes she begins to believe that sometimes it’s better to be alone and safe than to love and lose.
