Wow. Wow. Wow.
I am about to burn Ella’s wars off with so much praise and adoration for this read right now!
I don’t read very many M/M books but I’ve been the mood to try and get into more these days. I’ve picked a few and they’ve been good but not “suck me in until I can’t stop” kind of good.
Try was a reccomended by a friend and let me tell you, she did not hold back on telling em how great the characters and this story is!!
Oh my! Be aware it is an erotic novel so there’s a lot of getting down and dirty. In some cases the books can lose track of itself when it is an erotic read, yet Ella Frank managed to reel us in with such addictive and complex characters that bring more to the story that just their sexual prowess.
Tate is straight, or at least that’s what he’s known about himself his whole life. Yet now, coming out of a nasty divorce and nothing exciting in his life, he doesn’t expect to meet a man that turns his whole life around.
Logan, is an enigma. The only word best to describe him is that he oozes sex. His body, his manners, even a darn look. He is the epitome of the food chain and he has his eyes set on the hottie working the bar.
Tate and Logan have an undeniable connection but it’s the push and pull of will Logan be able to persuade Tate enough to give into the chemistry. That, was the most fun to read. The banter rolled off the pages and I found myslef laughing in moments that shouldn’t have been as funny as they were.
And again, this book is more than just about the chemistry, it’s about looking out of the box and accepting that things don’t always have to be as they seem.
Logan is a relationship guy but Tate makes him crave more. Tate never thought he’d fall for a man but Logan, Logan makes him want to do things he’d never imagined before.
The chemistry, connection, heart the conversations, the arguing and making up. Everything about these two takes you on a ride and I loved that they’re both strong individuals. They don’t take no shit and they own up for their actions. I respect them a lot and I am hooked for more.
The ending has me itching for more and that’s what makes Ella’s writing so amazing. The jumping between POVs in third person makes the pacing quite fast. Also you get so caught up in the moment that you don’t realise until the end that, “hey I don’t actually think we got to know these characters as well as I should have despite my heart loving them so much”, in result you need to pick up the next book!
So off I go! Here I come Book 2!
– Book Fanatic
Blurb:
Try – verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case…someone.
Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed—after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto—if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try?
And he wants to try Tate Morrison.
Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate’s mind. He’s starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago.
The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell – a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants.
Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind.
As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzles between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives.
Logan doesn’t do relationships. Tate doesn’t do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and…tried?
