First up, if you haven’t read Starfish, stop what you’re doing and grab it now! I adored that story and this novella follows the lead singer in the band, so of course you should devour the novel Starfish on his band mate! Only seems logical, but if not this can be read as a standalone novella.

Jase Connor, he’s one I was so curious about after reading Starfish! I’m so glad he got a story, but I just wish it was longer. Yet this novella was perfect for him and Cami.

After finding out his old music teacher has passed away, Jase finds himself leaving his recording studio to hop on a plane to his funeral.

Upon arrival it turns out something was left for Jase in his old teachers will. At the will reading he bumps into his old best friend and ex classmate Cami. She’s all grown up and capturing his eye in a more than friendly way.

However Cami is very standoffish to him, almost as though he did something to hurt her. Jase has no clue but with the time they are forced to spend with each other in regard to the clauses in the will that need to be completed, they can’t help falling a little for one another.

Cami and Jase fall back into that old friendship they had because for once someone likes him for the real him, not his rockstar persona.

With a bit of rocks coming in their way, they break through. This was overall a sweet and delightful short read, that has just the right amount of drama and questions to keep you turning for more.

Lisa Becker so quickly becoming one of my cherished indie authors that I can’t wait to devour more reads from.
