Playing For Keeps has me hooked on these hockey players.
Kendall Ryan is my new addict. She writes stories that give you exactly what the can says.
If you were looking for a brothers best friend romance with a few pro hockey players, then that is exactly what you get. Along with a bit of a secretive relationship, this story is crystal clear on what it is and for that reason I enjoyed it.
I’ve read a few brother’s best friend romances and there’s usually a lot of angst or emotion built in so it was refreshing to read one that didn’t have as much drama but things still flowed really well.
It was low on drama and high on love and laughs. There were a lot of sweet moments and I enjoyed the gradual journey of how Justin started to become infatuated with Elise. Since Elise has has a huge crush on him pretty much her whole life she wasn’t going to be one to say no to this new attention her brother’s best friend was giving her.
They go through a bit of secretive friends with benefits stint but it’s clear with their already close relationship things were bound to move fast away from that territory.
I enjoyed every second of it and loved the secondary characters seeing as they felt a lot more real than other stories. With Becca’s blunt honesty on a situation and then Justin’s buddies having fun playing the field yet still being good friends with was a nice bunch of characters to love.

Blurb:
I’ve never been so stupid in my entire life.
Elise Parrish, my teammate’s incredibly sweet and gorgeous younger sister, should have been off-limits, but my hockey stick didn’t get the memo.
After our team won the championship, our flirting turned physical, and I took her to bed. Then shame sent her running the next morning from our catastrophic mistake.
She thinks I don’t remember that night – but every detail is burned into my brain so deeply, I’ll never forget. The feel of her in my arms, the soft whimpers of pleasure I coaxed from her perfect lips….
And now I’ve spent three months trying to get her out of my head, but I’m starting to understand she’s the only girl I’ll ever want.
I have one shot to show her I can be exactly what she needs, but Elise won’t be easily convinced.
That’s okay, because I’m good under pressure, and this time, I’m playing for keeps.
Get ready to meet your new favorite hot jocks in an all new stand-alone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series of athlete romances is perfect for you!
